Scaling a Pet Supplement Brand

2024-2026
Petscy is a pet supplement brand, and my work focused on scaling one of its key subscription offers through paid social while improving customer acquisition efficiency. The goal was not just to spend more, but to find a more effective path to converting new customers for the itch and allergy subscription.
Scope of Work

The Challenge
At the start, the account was relying heavily on fairly basic before-and-after style creatives that pushed traffic toward advertorial pages and product pages. While these assets had some utility, they created limitations in both differentiation and efficiency. The creative approach was relatively straightforward, and over time it became clear that a stronger framing strategy was needed to improve conversion quality and lower acquisition costs.
The main challenge was finding a more persuasive way to position the product so that cold traffic would convert more efficiently, especially for a subscription-focused offer where the first purchase economics mattered closely.

Creative Pivot
We replaced basic before-and-after ads with comparison-driven creative that framed the product more like a review or informed evaluation. This made the messaging feel stronger and more persuasive for new customer acquisition.
Landing Page Alignment
The new ad style worked better with the advertorial and product page flow, helping pre-frame the product in a way that increased buyer intent before the visitor landed.
Performance Focus
Optimization stayed centered on first-time customer acquisition, allowing us to judge performance based on actual customer economics rather than broader vanity metrics.

Strategy
We shifted away from simple before-and-after creative and moved toward comparison-style ads with more of a review-article feel. The idea was to make the creative feel more informative, more credibility-driven, and better aligned with how the product was being sold through the advertorial and product page experience.
This gave us a stronger bridge between the ad and the landing experience, while helping cold traffic better understand the value of the product before clicking through.

Results
Scaled to $150,000/month in ad spend
Reduced cost per first-time customer by 50%
Lowered CAC by shifting from basic before-and-after creatives to comparison-style ads with a review-article angle
Key Takeaway
This case showed how much creative framing can impact acquisition efficiency. The win did not come from just making new ads — it came from changing how the product was positioned. By shifting toward comparison-style creative with a review-article feel, we created a more persuasive path from ad to landing page to conversion.
